We're not a dog business. We're not an event organizer. We're not a sponsored directory.
We're a community-driven platform dedicated to discovering, connecting, and celebrating Toronto's dog community.
Our Dog
When we welcomed our Italian Greyhound, Whisper (@WhisperTheIggy), into our lives, we discovered something special. Not only did he introduce us to an incredible community of dog parents, but he also made us more social than we had ever been before. Through him, we met neighbours, local businesses, pet professionals, and friends we otherwise may never have crossed paths with.
How It Started
What began as a small community initiative through our neighbourhood community, @CanaryDogsClub, quickly grew into something much bigger. Nestled in the south-east pocket of downtown Toronto, Canary District is a neighbourhood where it sometimes feels like there are more dogs than people. Dogs are celebrated here. Neighbours know each other by their dogs' names. Friendships are formed during walks, at local cafés, and in the park.
Being Dog Parents in Toronto
As dog owners ourselves, we often found it surprisingly difficult to keep up with everything happening across Toronto's dog community. Events were scattered across different pages. Great dog-friendly businesses were hard to find without word of mouth. Local recommendations lived across countless groups and accounts, never in one place. There was no real hub dedicated to helping dog parents discover the best of dog-friendly Toronto — and more importantly, no place helping them feel like they truly belonged to a community here.
That's the part that struck us most. Life in a big city can feel isolating, even when you're surrounded by people. But dogs have this remarkable ability to cut through all of that. They start conversations between strangers on the sidewalk. They turn neighbours into friends. They build communities out of nothing but a shared love for the same ridiculous, wonderful creatures. We built Dogs Club Toronto because we believe that ability deserves a real home.
Welcome to the city's pack.
Whether you're looking for your next favourite patio, a trusted local business, an upcoming event, or simply a way to feel more connected to the city's dog community — we're here to help and be your friends!
